The Quattro Sportive
This beautiful rural cycle event takes riders through some of the four counties' finest villages including the historic Castle Ashby, the traditional market town of Olney and some of our favourite villages including Newton Blossomville, Kimbolton and Harrold.
There will be 3 multi distance cycle event routes available in 2017. The bike route will start from and finish at the village of Cogenhoe in Northamptonshire. Cycle the 51 mile Piccolo, 64 mile Medio or 86 mile Gran Fondo - the choice is yours! The Medio is as close as possible to a 100 km cyclosportive, for those looking for that particular cycle event.
This is not an extreme cyclosportive course, but takes in some great rural roads and is a great way to start off your 2017 UK cyclosportive season or prepare for the bike leg of some longer distance triathlons. We love this cycling event!
The inspiration for the name comes from the fact that riders cycle through parts of all 4 counties during the longest course: Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire & Northamptonshire.
These rural roads are the cycling routes we use a lot during our own triathlon and cyclosportive training, so we're very pleased to be able to share them with you in the Quattro.
There will be 2 Premium Feed stations for the Gran Fondo and 1 for the Medio and Piccolo. All offering a wide selection of sweet and savory snacks as well as USN nutrition products.
All riders who take part will have access to :
- Energy drinks/bars/gels from our nutrition sponsors USN at the feed stations.
- Expansive selection of sweet and savoury snacks at the feed stations. Past years have seen flapjacks, wine gums, crisps, malt loaf, scotch eggs, sausage rolls, and cheese and onion rolls.
- Fully signed route with downloadable route map.
Hopefully you won't need it but:
- Full Medical support.
- A sweep vehicle for those who can't complete the course.
And when you finish:
You'll receive a Just Racing commemorative medal when you cross the finish line.
Best of all there are refreshments at Cogenhoe Football Club including a bar when you finish!
All cycle routes can be found under event information.
