Weymouth Half Marathon

13.1 miles | 2 leg relay (5 & 8 miles)
15 Mar 2015

If you have any problems using the 'Enter Online' button, please click here.

Enter this inaugural half marathon as an individual or a 2 leg relay (5 & 8 miles).  A brilliant pre London Marathon race or a great way to check out the sights of Weymouth if you are considering entering Challenge Weymouth or the Weymouth Half Triathlon in 2015.  Numbers are limited so enter early to secure your place.

This is a perfectly timed race whether you're training for a spring marathon or just improving your endurance and getting back into race training coming out of winter. Without a proper hill in sight this spectator friendly half marathon allows you to take in the spectacular views and sights that Weymouth has to offer.

Starting at the famous Weymouth Clock Tower,  the relatively flat 1-lap course takes you along the beautiful Jurassic coastline before reaching the end of the coastal wall, where runners will turn for a return journey along the SW coast path back into Weymouth.  The sights don’t stop as the course winds its way through the centre of Weymouth’s shopping area, over the town bridge, along the historic harbour and up to the gardens of the Victorian Nothe Fort.

From here the journey to Portland begins, taking in some breath-taking views, including Portland itself.  On reaching the National Sailing Academy (host to the 2012 Olympic Sailing events), runners can enjoy Portland Marina, which will also be an excellent spot for spectators, as it will provide a stunning backdrop to the relay change over point.

Upon reaching Portland Castle, runners will make their way to Chesil beach and back towards Weymouth.  And it is Weymouth’s old railway line,  the Rodwell trail, that continues to provide stunning views of the Jurassic Coast, Sandsfoot Castle and historic Weymouth, before bringing runners out in the heart of Weymouth town centre.  Once back in to town, runners can expect a great welcome at the finish line overlooking Weymouth Bay.

For those who don't feel ready to complete the half marathon as an individual, why not enter a relay team with a family member or friend where one runner will complete an 8mile run and the second runner 5 miles.

As with all of our events, this half marathon will be expertly marshalled, fully signed with feed stations, full medical support and an amazing race experience for all competitors.

The official photographer for the event will be Photo-fit.net so don't forget to smile for the camera!
