Just Racing (UK) was formed in 2000 as a sports event management company. Our early philosophy was really simple as we wanted to organise events that we would want to take part in ourselves. Whilst much has changed since the early days, this basic principle hasn't and we continue to organise events that we want to take part in. Throughout the last 11 years we have continued to develop our portfolio of events; and it is equally gratifying to see the same individuals year after year, as it is to welcome new faces to the Just Racing experience.
In 2012 we are proud to deliver a multi-terrain series of running events, pool based triathlons, open water based triathlons, cyclosportives, European qualifying events, British Grand Prix events, giving many individuals their first experience of participating in a sporting event.
New this year is a pool based Triathlon at Kimbolton in July, and returning for a second year Challenge Henley iron distance triathlon and Henley Half in September.
It is our race day Events Team (which can comprise over 100 individuals) that deliver our events and really make them come alive. But before getting to this stage, there is much that happens behind the scenes prior to each and every event taking place. We would like to introduce you to a few of that team who do a lot of that behind the scenes work.
Alan Rose. The founder and Managing Director of Just Racing (UK), you will find him at all of the events, normally as event director, but often as race commentator or coffee provider. Alan has a degree in Sports Science, is an ex-Physical Education teacher and has also served in the Royal Navy.
Julie Lancaster (cocko). If anything goes wrong, Julie gets the blame. Events Coordinator and scapegoat, you'll tend to find cocko looking after registration at most events and making lots of coffee in the office. In previous jobs, cocko has travelled the world as a PA. Now she spends her Sunday mornings in fields across the East Midlands.
Lucy Rose. Special Ops. Lucy is the proverbial rubber cork. Fills gaps as they appear on race day and is only allowed in the office when Alan is out. Although a runner, Luce completed her first Ironman event in 2010 in a fantatsic time of 12 hrs 21 mins!
Philippa Morgan The Marketing and Comminications Manager who will be dealing with all aspects of Sponsorship, Marketing and Communication. Philippa has a background in law and also travelled around the world in her previous role as Innovation Manager for Thomson Holidays.
As with our events, we welcome individuals of all experiences to join our events team on race day - just drop us an email or give us a call (events@justracinguk.com / 01933 663 516) and we'll do the rest.
